My freshman year ot Indiana, my teacher,Georg Janzer, suggestd I try viola. I’m not sure of his reasons, but they turned out to be good. I borrowed a viola that summer (1970) and really got to enjoy it. That fall, I was able to purchase my Ole Dahl viola. He was the string repair man / luthier in Bloomington. (He went on to start the string technology program at Indiana.)
